Discerning the Signs of the Times

There is an important call for Christians who live in a season and a culture where there is a war to redefine Christianity. A call to stand for truth and help others discern what is true and what is false?

The need for discernment is more essential than ever before.
We are living in a time of great confusion, fear and a desperation for information … which makes people vulnerable to the lies and manipulation of the Enemy.

How do we discern the signs of the times, how do we know what is right and wrong?

We are instructed to walk in discernment.

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world … “
(1 John 4:1-3)

Testing refers to a process. TEST everything you hear, before you accept and believe it –

  • EVERYTHING!! -Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what is true and what should be disregarded. Seek His wisdom, and trust His voice. (Is 11:2)
  • Filter everything you hear through scripture … study to find yourself approved (2 Tim 2:15). If the Bible doesn’t reveal it, it’s not for us to know the details, so we redirect our eyes to Jesus, focussing on that which HE DOES CLEARLY REVEAL TO US in His Word.
  • When God reveals truth to us, even if it is something challenging, it does NOT come with a spirit of fear!

God always gives us His peace and the assurance of His presence, provision and protection – no matter how difficult or tough His word.
So if you experience fear after reading news items, listening to unaccountable ‘prophets’ and their warnings, it is not from God … yes, some the information may be true, but it is being used by the enemy to make you captive so that you are overcome by defeat.
Don’t allow the enemy – the spirit of this world, to catch you in his web of fear, intimidation, uncertainty and confusion. 🕸

The Holy Spirit works in our hearts to warn us, to lead and guide us.
If we feel uncomfortable and we think that something is not true, or it brings fear, then that is the time to search the Scriptures to discern how the Word of God applies to a situation.

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)

So dear family, put your trust in God’s word and promises. No matter how terrifying things may seem right now, quieten your hearts before the Lord. Rest In His great and mighty arms. He knows all things, is over all things and has promised to never leave or forsake you … or your family 🙏
