In a world that is spiralling out of control, where the pressure of life is becoming unbearable for many, God gives His children keys to overcoming the challenges and problems we may face.
A quick overview of the past six principles from God’s word to help us overcome adversity:
  1. Focus on the might of God’s Power rather than the size of the Problem.
  2. Trust in God’s plan even when it doesn’t make sense.
  3. See the Supernatural in the Ordinary.
  4. Never Ever Give Up!!
  5. Surround yourself with Faith filled believers.
  6. RESET your Mind for Victory, and today we look at the final one:
“Though the fig tree does not blossom and there are no fruit on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights”
(Habakkuk 3:17-19)
God’s word tells us to rejoice and trust in Him even when things look bleak and there seems to be no hope, because what we sow now, will eventually bring a harvest of great blessing. No matter how barren the land, a time of blessing and joy is coming!
Even times of loss and pain will be turned into joy if the tears and pain we experience is offered to God through surrender and trust in His perfect plan for our lives.
(Psalm 126:5-6)
“Those who sow their tears as seeds will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of glee.
They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow,
but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!”
It is a time to sow seeds of life, hope and grace.  Yes, it is ‘seed time’, for planting and preparing for a new season.
When things go back to ‘normal’, what will our harvest look like?
What we plant now will spring up and manifest itself. I know families who pray together everyday during lockdown, others have become disciplined in new health routines and some have invested time into discovering new skills, learning a language or playing a musical instrument.
Some are not in total lockdown, so may not be able to make radical changes, and others are working harder than ever depending on their jobs. But it is still a season of sowing … May each one reap a joyous harvest in their lives. Our attitudes, decisions and actions during this time of extreme pressure, uncertainty and unknown futures, will reveal the results in the not too distant future.
  • Faith
  • Hope
  • Love
  • Prayer
  • Praise ….
These are all seeds that we can plant and that will bring victory, peace and blessing in the future.
Seek to learn all of the valuable lessons that God wants to teach you as your walls of discouragement, worry and challenges gradually break down, confident that at the end of this journey you’ll experience a season of joy. Notice the hopeful signs that God gives you along the way, and when you do, praise God for Who He is and what He’s doing for you. It’s only a matter of time before God gives you a great victory, if you hold fast to the promises found in His word, and continue to be faithful in your service to Him.
James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
