Set apart as Vessels of Honour
We all have various dishes, vases, and other objects that we use around the house. Some are for daily use and can easily be replaced, while others are cherished and prized. They are carefully brought out and used only for important occasions, or specific purposes.
These precious items were either given as a gift, or are rare treasures passed down within your family. They are irreplaceable. Valued and deeply loved.
God also has many vessels in ‘His house’. Each one of us are a vessel of some sort. The question we need to ask, is am I an honourable vessel that God can use? Have I been set apart, for His glory only, or am I being ‘used’ for, and by other things?
There is no greater value than a human being. Jesus died and gave His life for us, the price He paid is incomparable, and impossible to repay. We are therefore treasured, highly valued and esteemed as His children.
As a vessel set apart for His use, I am loved, honoured and special.
If I choose to allow myself to be filled with anything ‘unholy’, dirty or unpleasing to God, I will be become a dishonourable vessel.
“In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work” (2 Tim 2:20,21)
God is looking through His house today, seeing what vessels He can use … who is honourable and available, ready for use, clean and pure … so that He can use them for His glory in a world of chaos and desperation.
Let’s become vessels of honour unto the Lord.
Set apart for His use only!
Ask Him to fill you with His power, glory and grace … in order to impact the world around you.
Let Him set you apart, held closely to His heart, away from the contamination and corruption of the world, in order for you to bring Him glory.
